The appellant, Chester Maines, disputes the trial court's characterization and division of the parties' real and personal property in a dissolution proceeding. Mr. Maines claims the trial court mischaracterized  the community interest in the separate residence of the respondent, Cheryl L. Pearson-Maines. The property was improved over the duration of the parties' relationship by both separate funds and community effort.
